Bear River Crawl 5K Run

Another great run for the NMCC. We had 157 register and many great family memories.
We will be hosting the Bear River Crawl 5K run this year with an in-person run and if you can’t make it to Petoskey, join us for the virtual run.
We have submitted our permit to the city to host the Bear River Crawl along the Bear River. Stay tuned to see if we are approved. We should know by the end of May.
Due to the collapse of the Little Traverse Wheelway, the 10K run is cancelled.
Start time: you can start to run any where from 8:00 am to 8:15 am. Your time will still be recorded. 5K walkers with strollers and dogs, we ask that you start after 8:30 am. BYOWB – bring your own water bottle. No aid station on the course. Water will be available at finish!
The BRC virtual run has three great advantages for runners and walkers.
- You can do it on your own time. If you want to wait for a sunny day or a cool evening, you can. Just complete the run between July 17 and August 1, 2021.
- You can run the race anywhere. You can run it in Colorado or Florida, downstate or here in Petoskey and still support the NM Cancer Crusaders.
- In addition, you get to pick your own course! It could be on a trail, on a treadmill, in a city, or in a park. Just get out and run or walk a 5k!
Once you finish your run, send us your times and finish photos and we’ll post them on our social outlets and website.
ENTRY FEES (Registration fees are nonrefundable, as this is a fundraiser)
5K Run/Walk $25.00 before July 9, 2021 $30 July 10 -16, 2021 $40 day of race
A t-shirt is guaranteed to all registered entrants before Friday July 9th at 5:00 pm
Awards: This year there will be not awards for winners of age groups due to social distancing recommendations and a staggered start times.
Race Pick up: If you are a local resident – Race packet pick up will be the week of July 16th at Northern Michigan Sports Medicine Center, 345 N Division Rd., Petoskey, MI 49770 (231) 348-7950 or day of race.
If you are out of town – we will mail your registration packet with your bib and t-shirt.
In Memory signs: If you wish to make a donation to the Northern Michigan Cancer Crusaders in the memory of or in honor of a loved one that has been touched by cancer, a dedication sign will be created featuring their name and mailed to you. A $10 donation is appreciated.
